The Team Lead provides shift-based leadership within a residential cottage, supporting male and female residents ages 13–20 in a trauma-informed, structured, and nurturing environment. Serving as the on-site leader during assigned shifts, the Team Lead supports daily operations, guides teammates, responds to crises, and ensures consistent, high-quality care in alignment with the Home's policies, licensing standards, and care model.

This role works closely with the Program Coordinator, Care Coordinators, Social Workers, and residential teammates to promote safety, accountability, and positive outcomes for youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the on-site cottage leader during assigned shifts, providing guidance, support, and direction to teammates.
  • Ensure daily schedules, routines, and activities are followed and adapted to meet the needs of residents and the team.
  • Support accountability to agency policies, procedures, and expectations in collaboration with program leadership.
  • Assist with staffing coordination to ensure appropriate coverage for supervision, activities, appointments, and transportation.
  • Respond to, assess, de-escalate, and document crisis situations and critical incidents using approved trauma-informed techniques.
  • Support intake processes as a secondary team member, helping ensure a welcoming and consistent transition for new residents.
  • Collaborate with Care Coordinators, Social Workers, and residential staff to plan and carry out age-appropriate, therapeutic activities and outings.
  • Serve as a point of contact for visitors, volunteers, and external partners as needed during assigned shifts.
  • Oversee medication distribution in accordance with training, delegation, and policy.
  • Assist residents with treatment and independent living goals, documenting progress and supporting use of healthy coping strategies.
  • Provide direct supervision and care, including bed checks, appointments, outings, meals, housekeeping, and daily living tasks.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or active, continuous enrollment in a degree program required
  • Bachelor's degree and/or prior lead or shift-lead experience preferred
  • Prior experience working with children or youth in a residential, child welfare, or similar setting required
  • Valid driver's license required and must be maintained throughout employment
  • Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of residential care, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and responding quickly to emergencies
  • Must complete and maintain all required agency, licensing, and regulatory trainings (including CARE and Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention)
