• Reviews purchase requests to ensure compliance with approved budget.
• Evaluates and approves purchases. Monitors compliance with County Procurement Ordinance. Ensures that public funds are spent in the best interest of the York County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of York County.
• Maintains financial records for York County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit. Duties include reconciling seizure and forfeiture accounts, investing funds, issuing checks and preparing periodic reports.
• Develops, prepares, and creates budgets for the Sheriff's Office. Prepares supporting documents for budget requests, reporting, and implementation.
• Approves payment of invoices.
• Reviews and manages budgetary accounts. Develops forecast of anticipated revenues and expenditures.
• Prepares periodic and special reports for management and other stakeholders.
• Prepares financial reports for state and federal grants. Attends grant meetings and works directly with grant administers and personnel.
• Maintains and reconciles independent checking accounts.
• Serves as liaison to banking institutions. Coordinates special projects outside of the financial area.
• Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration.
• Six (6) years of finance, accounting, procurement or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
• Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS (WORK ENVIRONMENT):
Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
• Valid state driver’s license is preferred.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• May require additional professional or technical certifications as deemed necessary by management.
