About our opportunity:

We invite you to apply to join our team as a full-time, non-exempt Pharmacy Technician within the York County Sheriff’s Office Detention division. The purpose of this position is to assist the facility Pharmacist with preparation and distribution of medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining inmate patient records.

Compensation: Pay Rate/Grade 113: $21.94 - $34.00 per hour.

Work Schedule: Any hours worked in excess of 80 hours (bi-weekly) are compensated at a rate of time and a half.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Retrieves and prepares inmate medication orders from nursing staff (standing orders), contracted facility Physician, Dentist, and Mental Health Professionals on a daily basis.

-Fills and labels inmate prescription bubble packs; sorts, prepares, and secures the medication containers for drug distribution throughout the facility.

-Assists in maintaining accurate inmate patient records, completes data entry for prescription refills, and retrieves data from the Jail Management System, Enhanced Medical Tracking Menu.

-Files completed medication orders, medication administration records, blood glucose/insulin administration records, and inmate medication responsibility forms. Completes and maintains the medication administration record (MAR) for all inmate patients.

-Checks, rotates, and restocks all drug inventories and related medical supplies. Maintains established par levels based on facility needs. Prepares drug and supply order requisitions for Medical Services Coordinator. Verifies, sorts, stocks, and reports any new inventory discrepancies to the Medical Services Coordinator.

-Inspects all drug and supply storage areas (pharmacy, triage room, dental office, etc.) for outdated medications, solutions, and related supplies on a bi-monthly basis. Maintains a high level of cleanliness and sanitation at all times.
